The Leadership Forum Objectives
Objectives of the Forum
  • To partner with the business community, government, educators and minority and non-minority community leaders on critical statewide issues impacting the economic and social development of African American communities throughout the state

  • To serve as a catalyst in bringing together disparate groups and organizations to focus on successful models which have worked in other communities on critical issues

  • To influence policy and decision makers with timely, objective analyses of needs, options, and alternatives on health care, education, criminal justice and community development (including housing) related to African Americans and other minority populations

  • To work with pro-business advocates on strategies that create a better understanding and appreciation of the importance of African American businesses and serve as an advocate for increasing the overall investment of capital and human resources targeting the overall improvement and competitiveness of such businesses

  • To provide technical assistance and consultative services to policymakers and businesses working to solve public policy issues and drive economic, health, housing and educational advancement of African Americans and other minority populations

  • To develop and implement strategic leadership development and training opportunities for African Americans throughout the state

  • To develop, maintain, and implement a research database on the problems of African Americans and other minority populations and identify best practices to solve them
